Question by lcsotter: Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced home surveillance system with 3 camera’s ,maybe wireless?

this company proved to be deceptive after sending me an into email inviting me to take advantage of a 3 camera system for 99.00 they gave me the run around and left me on hold saying they couldn’t find that deal even I sent their email back to them as proof.

Question by Christi K: Can anyone suggest a cheap wireless surveillance system for keeping an eye on my tenants activities?
I believe my new tenant has been stealing my towels from the laundry room and has her boyfriend staying in the apartment with her. I gave her a written notice about the boyfriend but she claims he isnt staying there. I want a WIRELESS camera system that will be easy to install and record her activities in the laundry room and to watch her outside door. I need suggestions….

Question by Laura: Can anyone recommend a good indoor wireless surveillance system?
I am looking for a four camera wireless CCD indoor surveillance system that comes with a dvr that can record all four cameras at once. I would like to hear from someone who has owned one before.

Hopefully no 3 year olds will get on here and reply about how there is a lot of info on the web if you google. No kidding, the problem is that there is too much information and fake reviews on the web.

Question by richy: Bought a PC Wireless 4 Camera DVR Security Surveillance System from Ebay?
Just bought this system from ebay.Wondering if anyone knows how to setup the webcam server for remote monitoring.Looks like by the instructions that it was straight forward,but no luck.Any help?

mmm, not much to go on, but i’ll try.
I’m guessing there is a ‘webcam server’ setting in the menu that you already turned on, if not, well, i’ll really need to know what system it is before I can say anything usefully then.
But assuming there is, and you already turned it on as described in the instructions the place where it usually goes wrong is either:
-ports in your router are not opened for traffic
-ports on your router are not set up to to rout you to the dvr
for both thing you need to check witch port is used by the dvr, then go to the config page of your router and check under ‘virtual server’ or ‘address translation’ and check if those ports are routed to the dvr.

for anything more concrete i nee more info about what goes wrong/what system/type of connection you want (web interface or a installed program)
